DIY Rollerball Labels for Essential Oils

Lifestyle

You can easily make your own rollerball labels for your essential oils with this cut file.

Roller bottles are my absolute favorite way to use essential oils. By doing the prep ahead of time, it takes the guesswork out of diluting properly and takes the effort out of rounding up the various oils used in an effective blend. Essential oils are very strong and potent…much more concentrated than the herbs, flowers, and fruits in their original form. So you should always dilute them with a carrier oil like fractionated coconut. My first attempt at using the rollerballs, however, was a dismal failure.

The bottles leaked! No one wants a leaky bottle of any sort, especially one filled with oils that you toss in your purse.

And so, I set off on a mission to find some good ones. And I did! These are the ones I now use.  I especially love that these come with the rollerball accessory to help remove the top for refilling. The teeny little funnels are great, too!

Although these come with blank labels, I wanted to jazz mine up a bit more with my Silhouette Cameo.   First, design your text. The svg cut file is in the free  Resource Library.  Get the password for free by filling out the form at the bottom of this post.

If you make your own labels, keep in mind that the text may end up too small to cut easily since the bottles are so small. An easy fix for my particular font was to offset the finished text by .01. Perfect! The cut file included has already been offset for you.

Choose your vinyl and load it into your Cameo.

Be sure to adjust your settings to reflect the vinyl you’re using, so the blade cuts the proper depth. Mine was glossy vinyl. The settings are in the photo below.

Weeding boxes are included in the cut file to help you with the weeding.

Go grab the the cut file from my Resource Library to create your own labels! Here’s how mine turned out. I’d love to see yours! Oh, and if you’d like for me to create a cut file in a different font or different words, just drop me a line at [email protected] and I’ll do my best!
