A wine and cheese party is a great social icebreaker. Most folks love wine. And most folks love cheese. What better combination than some red wines, some white wines, and a selection of cheeses for your next holiday get-together!

We began this whole wine party idea because we wanted something to bring our entire neighborhood together at the community clubhouse. A wine party seemed like a great way to get people talking.
Begin by deciding what type of wine tasting party to host.
In our case, we opted for very casual. It’s the first party of its type in the ‘hood… we’re just gonna throw it out there and see if folks enjoy it and want to do it again in the future. So for starters, we’ll have each couple bring a bottle of either red or white wine. Alternatively, you could specify the type for each person to bring, or even provide all the wine yourself.
For a blind tasting, place each wine in a brown paper bag so the wine cannot be identified by the label. Then number the bags so you’ll know which wine is being rated later.
Explain the science behind the traditional pairing of wine and cheese such as in this article.
Make the tasting interactive.
Give each guest their own Wine Scoring Sheet to record each wine’s distinct appearance, aroma, and flavor. Encourage your guests to talk about each wine and how it affects the taste of each cheese.

Print out the “Wine Bingo” cards. Be sure to have a surprise for the winner! For our winner, I’ve etched a wineglass with a map of our neighborhood lake. This is super easy to create! See the step by step of how to etch glass in this post here. Sure hope the winner likes it!
Make your own custom files, too!
